Developmental Occupational Therapy Services (DOTS) is a private occupational therapy practice serving children and youth in Northern Ontario. We use a play-based, family-centered approach to make therapy enjoyable, and help children develop the skills and independence they need to thrive. Collaborating with caregivers, we help children shine brightly and achieve meaningful goals.

We are seeking a compassionate and outstanding occupational therapist (independent contractor). The successful candidate will provide client and family-centered services to pediatric clients, utilizing a holistic approach to optimize safety, functional ability, and well-being. The occupational therapist will provide services in schools, daycares, and client homes in the Greater Sudbury district. Hours are flexible, with some daytime availability required. There is potential for more permanent hours in the future.

Conduct assessments/consultations and develop individualized treatment plans for children with a variety of needs and goals.
Implement therapeutic interventions using a play-based approach to enhance skills.
Collaborate with families and other professionals to support the child's development.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress.
Supervise rehabilitation assistants and their tasks accordingly.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
Experience working with pediatric populations is an asset
Proficiency in French is considered an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license with reliable access to a personal vehicle
Willingness to travel within designated service areas
Appropriate insurance coverage for professional and vehicle use

This posting is for a position as an independent contractor. While daytime availability is required, hours are flexible and the therapist can create their own schedule. DOTS offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and mentorship is available.
