Occupational therapy is a regulated allied health profession that promotes functional independence. Occupational therapists enable their clients to participate in meaningful daily activities, and focus on the areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.

Families and caregivers can self-refer to DOTS. A doctor’s referral may be required for insurance coverage - check with your insurance provider for more details.

Occupational therapy services are not covered by OHIP. Please check with your insurance provider to determine if they cover OT services.
Funding for services may also be available through the Ontario Autism Program, Jordan’s Principle, or other community agencies and grants.

DOTS primarily provides services in the family’s home. If this is not an option, we will work with you to find a community setting. We also provide virtual services.

We accept e-transfer, cash, or cheques.

Documentation (including SEA/equipment letters) is available upon request, when appropriate. Please see the Fees & Policies for more information.

Services are provided in English, including all written documentation. Some services are also available in French. Please contact us to find out more.
